Editorial policy
Local Champion Stories aims to publish accurate, independent and clearly presented editorial work about local sporting people and places. We distinguish what is established from what is interpretation, and we correct meaningful errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, results and other factual details against information appropriate to the subject before publication. We take care not to turn a claim, recollection or interpretation into established fact, and we provide enough context for readers to understand the point being made. When a detail cannot be confirmed to a suitable standard, we leave it out or make that uncertainty clear.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to readers and fit with the publication. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or editorial control. Where a contribution or placement is paid for or otherwise supported by a partner, it is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial material.
Corrections
If you believe a published detail is wrong, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the passage in question. Useful supporting context helps us assess the issue. We review credible correction requests and update the text when warranted, making material changes clear to readers.
Images and illustrations
Images are selected or created to support the subject without misleading readers about what happened. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; those illustrations are identified where used. An illustration is not presented as documentary evidence of a real person, event or place.
